Neck Pain?

Don’t Suffer Needlessly.

Call Us Today!

Neck pain is one of the most common conditions treated by a chiropractor.

Although chiropractic really isn’t as concerned with treating the symptom of neck pain as it is the underlying cause of the problem – it needs to be stated that as far as results go…most patients experience significant relief with chiropractic care.

There are several different forms of neck pain and several different causes of pain.  One of the most common causes of neck pain or diagnosis is that of whiplash.  Whiplash is classified as an acceleration – deceleration injury in which the head is “whipped” back and forth in a traumatic fashion and causes significant injury to the soft tissues of the spine and often causes misalignment of the joints of the neck.

Chiropractors are uniquely suited to help patients who are suffering from neck pain.

The human head – on average – weighs about 12 lbs.  It sits on 7 small vertebrae called the cervical vertebrae.  These small vertebrae are designed to allow for substantial range of motion in the neck.  After all it is pretty important to be able to move your head around!  The problem is that with all the built in mobility provided by the cervical spine, there is inherent instability.  This makes the neck more susceptible to injury and misalignment.  Chiropractors are the only doctors in the world who are trained to locate, analyze and correct these “misalignments” of the spine, thus providing patients with a valuable solution for their pain.

Can Chiropractors treat all types of neck pain?

Absolutely not!

But in my opinion (Dr. Uhlmansiek, D.C. here), if the neck pain is a result of a vertebral subluxation, then there is no other provider type on earth who is more capable of handling the problem!

As with most things, different types of problems can produce similar types of symptoms.  Some are more serious than others.  There are different types of healthcare providers and specialties for a reason.

Chiropractors are great at detecting, diagnosing and correcting the vertebral subluxation!

Surgeons are great at determining the need for surgery and medical doctors are great at diagnosing infections and other problems like cancer.

Like it or not, chiropractic care isn’t for everyone all the time – and chiropractors know this.  Chiropractors are trained not only to locate, analyze and correct the vertebral subluxation – but more importantly – we are trained to know when not to adjust.  We are trained to know when it is time to refer out to another appropriate provider.

Neck Pain is a serious problem for people every day.  Chiropractic may be able to provide a viable solution for many of these people.  Remember that only about 8% of the population of the United States has ever been to a chiropractor, and remember that Chiropractors are the only doctors who do what we do.  That means that there are a lot of people out there who are not receiving the care that they need to address their problems.
